Nthumeni has occupied various roles in Deal Structuring and Risk Management across a number of local Investment Banks. Over the past 18 years in banking, he has had specific experience as a Credit Executive for Project Finance, Mining, Global Commodity Finance and Aircraft portfolios.
 

He currently occupies the seat of ABSA CIB Chief Credit Officer since joining the firm in 2015. Throughout his career, Nthumeni has been a member of and chaired various business and credit committees.

He began his career as a Junior Asset Manager after completing his studies at the University of Cape Town, where he graduated with a Business Science qualification in Statistics, Finance and Economics.

 

Nthumeni has also completed various executive management programs in South Africa (WITS), UK (London Business School)and India (IIMB). He totally dislikes being boxed as a Credit Officer because he self-reflects as a “Progressive Banker”.
